MathNerds is intended to be a resource for people who need help and guidance to solve problems and understand the concepts involved in K-12 and undergraduate College mathematics, as well as selected areas of more advanced mathematics.

MathNerds is not a tutoring service, nor is it a "problem solving" service. We do not usually do an entire problem for you, but we will give you hints, suggestions and explanations. If a question contains several similar parts, we will generally show you how to do the first, and then invite you to complete the rest. This is especially true of 'routine' questions commonly found in standard mathematics textbooks. After you receive the first answer, you are welcome to write again if you need additional details.

We often receive more questions than we are able to answer. Questions are answered on a first come, first served basis, and our typical answer time varies from almost immediately to a couple of days. If a question has not been answered within a week, you may assume that it has been dropped from the queue due to overload. If you submit it again it will be placed in the queue again as a new question.
